It’s January 2, 2008- best wishes for a happy new year. Like the rest of Canada, Killbear Provincial Park has settled very much in to winter. Although there is a lot of snow, there is a thick crust about eight inches down which is creating great x-country skiing and snow shoeing conditions. If you feel motivated to do a wonderful activity, “the park” is a beautiful place to see in the wintertime but don’t forget your equipment.
Switching to summer, we are now taking reservations for our tent trailers for the coming season. Good news! The rates will be the same as the past season. So if you are thinking that the old tent just does not cut it any more, Killbear Park Mall can provide an alternative.
Is your tent trailer a little on the old side? Some may be interested in knowing that Killbear Park Mall is selling off some of our fleet. We are asking $6300 and they are in superb condition.
Back to winter, the annual “winter reno’s” are under way. Shelves, counters and displays are being relocated to make room for new products. Those “new” products will remain a closely guarded secret though. Sorry J. It’s always an enjoyable and challenging process to plan for these new lines. Another project has resulted from an observation made last summer by Ian and Alison Frankish, two of the summer students. They noted that the outdoor store signage needed some attention and plans have begun for a new company sign. It’s a big project! How big? Where? Colour? Etc, etc.
More news- for those who know Mike (part owner) you’ll be interested to know that in September, he and his lovely fiancée Joy, in a beautiful and romantic setting, surrounded by their friends and family, got married.
Mike’s prints and films of Killbear Provincial Park make a unique and special gift for any occasion, especially for those who love “the park”. He has added new prints and is well underway on a new film. Check out his new webpage at www.georgianbayphotography.ca.
Well that’s all for now folks. Best wishes for a great winter.
